What is therapy?

What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is an approach that combines different therapeutic techniques and theories to create a personalised experience tailored to your needs. At Matter, we use a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to provide holistic and flexible support that best suits you.
What is a therapeutic hour?
A therapeutic hour is a standard session length in therapy, typically lasting 50 minutes. This ensures a structured and effective space for discussion while allowing time for reflection and processing before and after sessions.
Can I have therapy with you if I’m not a woman in business?
Yes! While our focus is on women in business, we welcome anyone seeking support who feels aligned with our approach and values. Therapy is a space for personal growth, healing, and clarity, no matter your profession or background.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If you cancel within this timeframe, you will not be charged. However, cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full session rate.
What is your late policy?
If you arrive late to a session, we will continue for the remaining time of your scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend the session beyond the agreed time. If you are more than 20 minutes late, the session may be considered a cancellation and charged in full.
How do I book a session?
For existing clients; you can book a session via email or text message. For new clients, can you please register your interest by filling out the form on the home page, and a member of the team will be in touch.
How often should I have therapy?
Therapy frequency depends on your individual needs. Many clients benefit from weekly or fortnightly sessions to build momentum, while others prefer a more flexible approach. We can discuss what works best for you.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is completely confidential, with a few legal exceptions where disclosure is required, such as when there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. We will discuss confidentiality in detail during your first session.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes, we offer online therapy sessions via a secure video platform, allowing you to access support from anywhere.
How do I prepare for my first session?
Simply come as you are. It can be helpful to reflect on what you hope to gain from therapy, but there is no pressure to have everything figured out. The first session is an opportunity to explore your needs and see if we are the right fit for you.
Can I contact you between sessions?
While we do not offer therapeutic support between sessions, you are welcome to email for administrative queries such as scheduling or payments. If you require urgent support, we recommend reaching out to a crisis service.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers. Full payment details will be provided upon booking.
